It wouldn't be a true Mensa function without food - or at least a discussion about food.
Looking to add an event in June - perhaps a "Third Friday", to hold the gap between First Fridays. Who can suggest a restaurant that can accommodate a crowd? What type of food? I'm leaning towards Cuban - perhaps Don Ramon, or Havana (both in WPB). I'll need to scout Don Ramon a little more to see capacity. All strictly for the goodof the group, of course! |

Judy and I especially like italian food, the garlic bread and garlic cloves and marinara sauce are particular culinary favourites, ans is chicken Masala, we do not eat Veal. We also like plátano frito and frijoles negro, and arozz y frijoles negro, and I particularly like Ropa vieja.
We would like the location to vary, both in type of cuisine,a dn in location. Boca and Delray are just getting too fuelish with our CRV and Toyota Tacoma. (25mpg). We also enjoy Olive Garden, and Red Lobster, usually these will accomodate small groups, but I do not believe one can reserve space in advance at these chains. Some Mensans do not eat at chains we have heard, but we unfortunately have not reached that financial status and still have to consider the price of our meals when we eat out, except on very special occasions like birthdays. |
