A member has asked if he can post a request for a place to room. That question has led to a discussion among the Mensa leadership about the nature of this site. On the one hand, we want to have people use this site to connect to each other. On the other, we don't want you to feel imposed upon. So, we are leaving it up to you. Do you like the idea of having members being able to post such requests (they would NOT be emailed to you, just be available on the site), and also perhaps recommending restaurants, asking if anyone can help with a computer issue and many possible similar things. The Meetup people already restrict this site from being used for commercial activities and the Mensa leadership does not believe the site should be used for political or religious discussions, but what about other things like those outlined above? |
